These terms and conditions set out the rules and expectations for use of the Spitfire Association website, located at spitfireassociation.com.

By accessing this website you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, please discontinue use of the site.

In these terms: “you” means the person using the site; “we”, “us” and “the Association” mean Spitfire Association. The terms apply to the website only; membership of the Association itself is governed separately.

Cookies and tracking

We use a small number of first-party cookies that are strictly necessary for the site to function, and one additional optional service (hCaptcha) that is only enabled if you consent on our cookie banner. We do not use third-party analytics, advertising, or social-media trackers.

Content and intellectual property

Unless otherwise stated, the Spitfire Association and/or its licensors own the intellectual property rights in material published on this site. All rights are reserved. You may view and print pages for your own personal and non-commercial use, subject to the restrictions below.

Without our prior written consent, you must not:

Republish material from the site on another website or publication;
Sell, rent or sub-licence material from the site;
Reproduce, duplicate or copy material from the site for commercial use;
Redistribute content from the site at scale.

Biographical content about historical crew members is compiled from public-domain sources including the Australian War Memorial and the National Archives of Australia, and from material contributed with consent. Where content is marked as contributed or attributed to a named author, that author’s rights are acknowledged.

Member accounts and payments

Some pages require a member login. You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential. We will not be liable for loss arising from unauthorised use of your account where that use was enabled by a failure to keep your password secure on your side.

Membership fees and purchases are processed by Stripe. When you pay, your card details go directly from your browser to Stripe and never reach our servers. Payment processing is subject to Stripe’s own terms.

External links

Our site contains links to third-party sites (for example, the Australian War Memorial, ADF Serials, Stripe, and MailChimp). Those sites are operated independently of us. We have no control over their content or availability and accept no responsibility for them. Inclusion of a link is not an endorsement.

iFrames and reuse

Without prior approval and written permission, you may not embed our pages within frames on another site that alters their visual presentation or implies a connection that does not exist.
