Sir John died on May 31st, 2005 aged 82 years. Sir John Aiken had been a Patron since the formation of “No 1 Fighter Wing Association” in 1994. Sir John Aiken was not a member of the Spitfire Association however, his contribution to the Air Force and its men will always be remembered.
