Wally was born in Sydney on the 25th March 1911. He enlisted on the 8th January 1940 and served in Darwin with the 457 Squadron as Adjutant with the rank of Flight Lieutenant.

Not much is recorded about Wally except that he was Adjutant to a famous Spitfire Squadron forging its reputation in Europe before coming home to defend Australia$apos;s north.

He was discharged on the 24th November 1944.
