Warwick was born on the 29th January 1915 in Mosman, NSW and enlisted on 23rd October 1940.

Keelo was a quiet man, and a little shy. He became an instrument specialist with No. 457 Squadron, "A" Flight, joining at Andreas in the Isle of Man, UK. He stayed with 457 until May 1944.

He was later commissioned and went back to the Darwin area. He was discharged on 31st January 1946 from No. 58 OBASU.

On leaving he bought a small cattle property at Bundanoon, NSW. Keelo was always very supportive of The Spitfire Association and helped at all their "do's".

We can see KEELO on the right, second from the end front row. This page is taken from a wonderfully illuminating self-published book available for download from the Internet entitled – No. 4 Service Flying Training School by Leslie R. Jubbs 2005

Previously unseen shots of life at 457 squadron, Livingstone Field, Darwin - also taken from Leslie Jubbs book – I am sure he won't mind. Keelo must be in there somewhere!

We do our very best to make sure the information in the stories we share is correct. These stories are maintained to show our respect for the pilots, ground crew, design engineers and all who were involved with the Spitfire. In many cases, the information has been collected from the personal interactions between our members and the pilots and crew featured, and on many occasions, this process happened much later in the veterans' lives. If you believe anything on our site is not historically accurate, we welcome the additional stories, records and photos needed to help us correct the record. We thank you for your understanding.
